Dr. Akshay Bommireddi is a board-certified nephrologist who completed both his internal medicine residency and nephrology fellowship at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center — one of Southern California's leading academic medical centers and a major kidney transplant program. That training gave him deep exposure to the full spectrum of kidney disease, from early-stage CKD and resistant hypertension to advanced dialysis management and transplant care.

Dr. Bommireddi earned his undergraduate degree at UC San Diego before completing his medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine. His clinical approach is grounded in evidence-based medicine and a commitment to individualized care — taking the time to understand each patient's full picture before building a treatment plan.

He joins Southern California Kidney Associates with a focus on chronic kidney disease, diabetic and hypertensive nephropathy, glomerular disease, and the management of patients on dialysis and post-transplant. He is affiliated with Hoag Hospital Newport Beach and is accepting new patients.
